State terror in Kashmir criticised

Published September 27, 2006

ISLAMABAD, Sep 26: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has said that Indian state-terrorism in occupied Kashmir is a big hurdle in making the Pakistan-India dialogue process a success.

The APHC said there had been no change in the ground situation in the held territory despite the dialogue process.

It further said that the troops had unleashed a rein of terror across the occupied Kashmir which amply demonstrated that India had no intention to resolve Kashmir dispute peacefully.

Meanwhile, the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has condemned growing human rights abuses in held Kashmir and called for an immediate end to state-terrorism.

It said the troops during violent crackdowns at Trich Kandi in Kupwara and in Bandipora subjected people to severe torture and harassment.—APP
