PESHAWAR, Sept 26: The NWFP chapter of Al-Khidmat Foundation will distribute foodstuff worth Rs60.50 million under the Ramazan package among people of earthquake-hit areas of Mansehra, Abbottabad, Batagram, Kohistan and Shangla.

More than 20,000 affected people will benefit from the package.

It was decided in a meeting which was chaired by MNA Liaquat Baloch to review the annual performance of the foundation, says a press release issued here on Monday.

Central Secretary General Syed Ihsanullah Waqas, MPA (Punjab), MNA and NWFP AKF President Shabir Ahmed Khan, General Secretary Haji Mohammad Aslam, director Haji Shakirullah and president of Al-Khidmat Foundation AJK Noorul Bari attended the meeting.

Provincial President of AKF Shabir Ahmed Khan presented the audit report regarding welfare activities, including reconstruction and rehabilitation in the quake-affected districts of the province.

He claimed that the foundation has so far spent Rs20.70 million and provided jobs to 900 affected families. He informed that billions of rupees had been spent on the establishment of basic health units in the areas while 10 ambulances had also been provided to these health centres.

Addressing the participants, MNA Liaqat Baloch said that AKF has completed a number of welfare projects, particularly in the quake-hit districts of the NWFP and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.—PPI
