KARACHI, Sept 26: Sindh Senior Minister for Health & Coordination Syed Sardar Ahmed has asked officers of his department for developing a website of the department having information about all provincial medical projects, hospitals, institutes, medical colleges and other facilities.

He issued the directive after attending a presentation given by Sindh Health Secretary Dr Naushad Sheikh on health department on Tuesday.

The minister noted that billions of rupees were being spent on health department but there were complaints about health facilities and non-provision of facilities to general public. “There is a dearth of hygienic environment in government hospitals,” he said. Due to large number of patients in hospitals, doctors did not pay due attention and resultantly people rushed towards private hospital where facilities were premium but expenditures were also very high, he said.

He vowed to reactivate all government hospital as well as urban and rural healthcare units so that public could be provided with standard health facilities. The minister said that the staff of the health department should facilitate patients passionately.
