WANA, Sept 24: Five suspected militants, including two foreigners, were wounded in a roadside explosion, and a paramilitary soldier suffered injuries in a rocket attack on the Scouts Fort in South Waziristan Agency on late Saturday night.

Sources said that a vehicle hit an explosive device in Shakai valley on Sunday morning, wounding five persons. The explosive was planted on the road.

They said that local militant commander Khanan and two foreigners were wounded in the explosion. The names of foreigners could not be ascertained.

Locals said that Commander Khanan had launched a campaign to expel Tajik and Uzbek nationals from the agency, but he could not succeed.

In another incident, rockets were fired on the Scouts camp in Wana, the agency headquarters, on Saturday night.

One rocket landed inside the camp, injuring a soldier, Ali Merjan Afridi. He was shifted to a military hospital in the area.
