Osama’s death report refuted

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Sept 24: Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao on Sunday refuted reports that Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden had died of typhoid in Pakistan last month.

“There is nothing true in it and we do not know who is behind this concocted news,” the minister said.

He said Pakistani authorities had no information about the presence of Bin Laden and his death. “We would have taken a swift action if he was in Pakistan,” the minister said. Foreign Office spokesperson Tasleem Aslam told media persons that there was no truth in the report. “It is totally speculative,” she added.
