LAHORE, Sept 24: Brilliant batting by Ravindra Jadeja and a fine spell of bowling by off-spinner Sumeet Sharma enabled India complete a 4-0 clean sweep in the under-19 one-day match series against Pakistan at the Qadhafi Stadium on Sunday.
Chasing a target of 192 in the fourth and final fixture, Jadeja unluckily missed out on a well deserving century by just six runs as India reached the target for the loss of six wickets with 6.5 overs.
Jadeja, who was declared Man-of-the-Match for his 114-ball 94, added 82 runs for the fourth wicket with B. Sumanth, who struck a 58-ball 48 after the visitors lost three wickets for 16 runs.
After Sumanth went, run out by a direct hit from Raza Rehman, Jadeja found another useful partner in Tanmay Srivastav. The pair then put on 83.
Jadeja was brilliantly caught by Imad Wasim at silly mid-on off spinner Mohibullah after striking 14 fours and three sixes.
Srivastav finished undefeated with 25.
Earlier, Sharma was instrumental in restricting Pakistan to 191 for eight with figures of five for 36.
Zeeshan Mushtaq was top scorer with an unbeaten 44, a knock which included three fours and one six.
Pakistan also lost both the four-day ‘Tests’.
