Eswarah aims for repeat win at Karachi races today

By Anwar Zuberi

KARACHI, Sept 23: Three-year-old chestnut filly, Eswarah, is on course to make it two in a row should she claim feature event in the Summer Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Saddled by S. Ehtisham, she posted a facile four-and-a-half lengths victory over Velvet Green in the last meeting on Sept 17 with Arshad astride.

She is drawn alongside 10 runners in class IV and V, div I and II in the six furlongs last race of the day.

However, she will have to overcome a big challenge from Adaab Arz and Moon Raker to repeat the winning feat.

Dragon Heart who finished off the board in the last four

attempts after winning top

honours can put up a brave show.

Three-year-old filly, Black Girl, is fancied to pick up spoils in the supporting event, a class VI race.

Denied a hat-trick by Safari Queen in the Independence Day Cup she seems to be back in form and can make amends by beating the opponents.

She should be chased by Queen Of Mirwa and Thanks Naeem for the places.

If tried by connections, three-year-old chestnut colt, Sindh Malook, should gallop home in the preceding race. Trust Again who finished second to Sweet Smile in the last outing and Sher Garh are the form horses in the fray.Four horses are in contention for honours in the fourth race. They are Patricia, Can’t Catch Me, Al Zarrar and Jack In The Box. We back Patricia over other contestants.
