KARACHI: Completion of schemes on time stressed

KARACHI, Sept 23: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has called upon the government officials to ensure on time completion of the ongoing development schemes and said no slackness in this regard will be tolerated.

He stated this at a briefing held at the Chief Minister House on Saturday regarding various development projects under the Prime Minister’s Thar package, Rural Development Authority and Annual Development Programme.

Dr Arbab said he would continue with the series of briefings regarding the ongoing development schemes in various districts of Sindh.

He pointed out that at present various development schemes costing Rs275 million were under implementation under the Rs1,500 million PM Thar Package. These schemes relate to health, clean drinking water, roads, education and supply of electricity to 87 villages in Thar.

He directed that such modern facilities be provided in every district headquarter hospital.

In Thar district, he said, at least a 100-bed hospital should be equipped with modern facilities, including an operation theatre and a gynaecology ward, besides having qualified doctors.—APP
