PESHAWAR: Record uplift in NWFP, says minister

PESHAWAR, Sept 23: NWFP Health Minister Inayatullah Khan has said that the present government has carried out record development in a short period while the development budget has been increased from Rs8 billion to Rs26 billion during the last four years.

He was speaking as chief guest at the groundbreaking ceremony of gas supply line to Bazidkhel. MNA Sabir Hussain Awan, elected representatives of the local government and notables of the area were present at inauguration ceremony.

The minister said that the government had provided 11,000 jobs in the health sector and created 10,000 PTC posts in the education department. 61 new colleges were established in the province, he added.

Referring to the political and ideological contribution of MMA, the minister said that the alliance was struggling for Sharia and safeguarding the ideological frontiers of the country.

On this occasion he ordered preparation of a feasibility report for establishment of a rural health centre in the area.
