Rallies for and against president in Washington

Dawn Report

WASHINGTON DC, Sept 22: Pro-and-anti Musharraf demonstrations were held outside the White House here on Friday morning as president engaged in a dialogue with US President George W. Bush inside his oval office.

A group of Musharraf supporters appeared on the scene early in the morning with flags, placards and posters before the meeting began. Among them was an enthusiastic drum player Boota from Gujrat who with his boisterous beats shook the entire White House neighbourhood out of slumber.

The Musharraf supporters also performed bhangara as they chanted full-throated slogans in his favour.

They entertained the White House staff and the Pakistani media team waiting outside for security clearance.

Later, the anti-Musharraf group also arrived with their accompaniments and created a hullabaloo at the gates of the otherwise peaceful White House. Both sides shouted their heads off.
