ISLAMABAD, Sept 22: Pakistan Post will start collecting gas bill payments in the Punjab and NWFP from October 2, a facility already being provided to consumers in Sindh and Balochistan.
An agreement in this regard was signed between the Pakistan Post and the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines (SNGPL) here on Friday.
The postal department was represented by Deputy Director-General Fazali Sattar Khan and the SNGPL by its managing director Abdul Rashid Lone.
Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan Post Director-General Arshad Khan said the department would collect utility bills (gas, electricity and phone) throughout the country. He said Pakistan Post was taking every step to provide best facilities to the consumers.
He said the department was introducing a new service very soon under which the postmen would collect payments for utility bills through cheques on the doorstep of consumers.
Arshad Khan further said the timings of utility bill counters had been extended in night post offices, adding that all GPOs would remain open for consumers to pay their utility bills on Sundays and public holidays.
