Sindh university launches 4-year BBA, BS degree programmes


HYDERABAD, Sept 19: The Academic Council of the University of Sindh approved four-year degree programmes for BBA (Hons) and BS in Commerce in the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration in its 32nd meeting held on on Monday.

Vice-Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui presided over the meeting.

The meeting decided that the admission to the approved degree programs would start from the academic session of 2007 and discussed the programs’ course scheme, syllabus and books to be taught.

The Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration Dean Dr Anwar Ali Shah briefed the meeting about the new programs and said that the faculty’s board had added some more subjects to the syllabus as proposed by the Higher Education Commission.

He said that the syllabus for new programs had been prepared keeping in view demand in job market so that the graduates could be more useful for the country’s economy.

The meeting appointed Dr M Y Khuhawar and Dr Anwar Ali Shah to affiliation committee and approved the recommendations of the board of Faculty of Arts and those of the board of Faculty of Islamic Studies on their revised curricula.

The council endorsed the recommendations of the board of Faculty of Natural Sciences after making minor changes in the faculty’s revised curriculum.

The council adopted a unanimous resolution congratulating eminent scholar Dr N A Baloch on receiving “Kamale Fun” award from Pakistan Academy of Letters in recognition of his services in the fields of education and literature.—Bureau
