Tribal elder shot dead
LANDI KOTAL, Sept 19: Armed men killed a tribal elder and one of his guards in Jamrud tehsil of the Khyber Agency on Tuesday. They also kidnapped two guards. According to eyewitnesses, tribal elder Zarpur Khan was on his way to Ghundi village along with his guards to attend a jirga when some armed men tried to kidnap them.
They said that Zarpur and his guards resisted the abduction attempt at which the armed men opened fire, killing Zarpur and a guard Fahim Khan on the spot. On their way back, the armed men took two guards with them.
Political authorities have registered a case.—Correspondent
