APNS condemns police violence

KARACHI, Sept 19: The All Pakistan Newspapers Society has condemned continuation of acts of violence against media persons by law-enforcement agencies and implicating journalists in false cases.

A meeting of the executive committee of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society held here on Tuesday expressed anger over acts of police violence against journalists in Rahimyar Khan and Lahore and registration of an FIR in a triple murder case against a journalist in Rawalpindi, a press release said.

It appealed to the prime minister to take notice of the acts of harassment of media persons and attack on freedom of the press.
