KARACHI, Sept 19: The Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) will hold a ceremony on Sept 22 to mark the formal inauguration of its new six storey building raised through donations.
According to an SIUT communication, the new building “Hanifa Suleman Dawood Centre” would be a facility for care of urological cancer patients. The building having 150 beds, facilities with most modern equipment, radiation department, CT scanner and five operation theatres has been constructed through the generous donations of the Suleman Dawood family, said the communication.
Hanifa Suleman Dawood will be the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony.
The SIUT, which had started its oncology services in 1989, at present extend health care to about 10,000 of uro-genital cancers, including bladder cancer, testicular cancer, prostate cancer, adrenal cancer, kidney cancer and cancers related to immunosuppression in transplanted cases, annually at its outdoor oncology services.
