KARACHI, Sept 19: Eight ships carrying containers, chemicals and general cargo are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where three ships, Kota Perkasa, to unload and load containers, Serife, to offload coal, and Diamond Progress, to load cement, were berthed after the departure of five.

The ships, which departed included Gallant Wave, Viking Merlin, Pu He, Free Fighter and Norasia Alps, while Corin Thiakos, Kota Perkasa, Gulf Bridge and Panthera are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 60,878 tons comprising 18,173 tons of export cargo and 42,705 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Oriental Bouquet, Oriental Protea, with chemicals, Thor Captain, Y.M. Star, and Hyundai Future, with containers, Chitral and Ju Bao Men, with general cargo, and Al-Khaliq, with steel.
