Bureau Report
PESHAWAR, Sept 18: Nazims and councillors have expressed concern over increasing incidents of kidnapping, robbery and other heinous crimes in the provincial capital and urged the government to take action against gangsters.
Speaking at a joint press conference here on Monday, nazims and councillor of 25 union councils of Town-II and Town Nazim Muhammad Sharif said that criminals were on the rampage in the city and dozens of people, including children, had been kidnapped for ransom during the last few weeks.
The town nazim said that people had paid huge amounts to kidnappers to secure release of their relatives while many were still in their custody because their relatives could not pay demanded amounts. He said the law and order situation in the city had deteriorated and people were feeling insecurity.
