KARACHI: Minister for modernisation of police hospital
KARACHI, Sept 18: Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqi has said that Police Hospital Karachi will be developed on modern lines. Chairing a meeting of the Board of Governors of the hospital, the home minister said that every department of the hospital would be developed under public-private partnership in cooperation with philanthropists and it would be raised to a status where senior police officers too would prefer to have treatment at this hospital.
He said that provision of quality medical facilities to police personnel was their genuine and basic right.
It was decided to appoint SP Headquarters Rana Pervez as acting administrator of the police hospital with immediate effect while the post for permanent administrator would be advertised through newspapers.
On the minister’s directive, the consultant assured that the ongoing renovation work would be completed in 15 days. It was decided that the next meeting of Board of Governors would be convened after a fortnight at the police hospital.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Board member Mian Farooq, M.G. Mustafa, Yasin Malik, Dr Bhatti, Mian Zahid Hussain, Manzoor Mehdi, home secretary, special home secretary.—APP
