KARACHI, Sept 18: Seven ships carrying containers, high-speed diesel, coal and steel are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active where over a dozen ships were berthed during the last two days. They were: Oel Aishwarya, Global Prosperity, CMA CGM Simba, Cape Santiago, Maersk Arkansas, Gallant Wave, Corin Thaikos, Viking Merlin, Norasia Alps, Pu He, to unload and load containers, Islamabad, to offload rock phosphate, AS-1, to unload fertiliser and Pacific Sun-2, to offload sugar.
Sailing was also active as 10 vessels, Malak-1, Carolina, Contiment-4, CMA CGM Simba, Rising Sun, Cape Samtiago, Global Prosperity, Maersk Arkansas, Safaga and Oel Aishwarya, departed, while Pu He, Free Fighter, Sea Beauty, Gallant Wave and Corin Thaikos are due to sail out on Tuesday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.137m tons comprising 25,304 tons of export cargo and 0.111m tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Tuesday: Keefan, with diesel oil, Gulf Bridge, APL Dalian, Thor Captain, with containers, Shipping Land-6, with 39,300 tons of coal, Cosmic Leader, with general cargo and Huang Shan, with 4,559 tons of steel.
