Man killed in shootout


QUETTA, Sept 17: One man was killed and a senior police officer was injured seriously in a shootout between police and group of armed men in Ghousabad area of Quetta, on Sunday night.

According to police sources satellite town police raided a place in Ghousabad area on tip-off about the presence of some wanted people and asked them to surrender but the armed men took positions and started firing.

Police returned the fire, resulting in killing one armed man on the spot while a sub-inspector of Satellite town Police Abdul Khaliq received bullet injuries who was rushed to the civil hospital. The man killed in the encounter was identified as Gul Mohammad who was wanted to the police in various cases. Police also arrested two Accused.—Staff Correspondent
