PESHAWAR, Sept 17: Citizen-Police Liaison Committee chairman Haji Mohammad Javed expressed satisfaction over police response to public complaints forwarded by the CPLC.
Speaking at a news conference here at the Peshawar Press Club, Haji Javed and other CPLC members said they would focus on the problem of registration of FIRs in the city. He said: “Most of the complaints are about non-registration of FIRs at police stations.”
He said CPLC members had apprised the provincial police officer (PPO) and other senior police officials of people’s problems.
Haji Javed said that so far the CPLC members were satisfied with the performance of police in the city and they would stress further improvement in the law and order situation across the province.
He said CPLC members had settled a number of criminal cases, involving monetary, murder and land disputes.
The CPLC was not a law-enforcement agency and was not taking any financial grant from the provincial government, he said and added that they would extend co-operation to police in its drive against crimes.
