KARACHI, Sept 16: Four-year-old chestnut filly, Fantasia, is fancied to oblige punters by claiming Tesio Stakes at the Summer Gymkhana race meeting at Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

In a field of 11 contenders in the six-furlong seventh race, only three catches the eye as potential candidate. They are Fantasia, Dil Phaink and King Of Sanghar. However, we prefer Fantasia over others. It will also be the feature event.

Two-year-old bay colt, Sir Jee, should gallop to victory in the four furlongs supporting event, Futurity Stakes, reserved for two-year-old colts and fillies.

He had to be content with second slot behind Drem Rose in the maiden run in Kingree Lodged Performance Cup on Sept 6.

A card of nine races has been drawn for the day. The first race begins at 12.30pm.

Eswarah, a three-year-old filly, seems to be the form horse and should outpace opponents by sprinting home. She should be chased by Butter Fly and Velvet Green. If all goes well, six-year-old chestnut, Your Honour, should make it two-in-a-row. However, he will have to overcome mare Smiling Face and colt Red Rufus in accomplishing the task.

Hot Strides, a three-year-old colt, is our fancy to pick up spoils in the div I class VII race by making amends to the previous loss. He should be followed by The Concord and Champion Express for the places.

Drawn in a pack of 18 horses, Mera Jugnoo has a fair chance to grab honours. Also in contention are Aces High and Sky Girl. However, Donatello can bring an element of surprise.

Three-year-old dark bay filly, Jan-e-Mun should repeat his winning feat to make it two-in-a-row. She should be opposed by Lucky Luck and Fight For Fame.

Mare Royal Beauty is tipped to claim the opener overcoming Field Commander and Sherry The Great. King Of the Field is also in the run and can upset the applecart.

Another mare Guarantee should dominate the next race. She should be chased by Beautiful Bee and In Her Shoes. Horse to be watched is Chistian The Great.

Meanwhile, horse racing fraternity heaved a sigh of relief after the KRC responded positively to the Dawn story published last week by bringing KRC guide book in the market on Friday evening instead of late Saturday as practiced before.
