Khurram, Yousuf, Asif share honours

KARACHI, Sept 16: Top seed Khurram Agha, third seed Mohammad Yousuf and seventh seed Mohammad Asif shared opening day honours in the 20th Latif Masters snooker tournament at Karachi Club on Saturday.

They emerged triumphant in one match apiece as remaining five ended in draw.

Reigning national champion Khurram conjured up a break of 81 in the third frame of his first match to post a 5-1 win over Salman Shaikh.

The scores were 46-30, 61-16, 81-11, 81-24, 65-24, 27-87. He was held to a 3-3 draw by defending champion Naveen Perwani in the next encounter.

Yousuf who was engaged in a 3-3 draw against Naveen in the opener chalked up 6-0 victory against Salman Shaikh in the next.

Similarly, after a 3-3 draw against second seed Imran Shahzad, Mohammad Asif stunned fourth seed Sohail Shahzad.
