Tariq Matin promoted to AVM


ISLAMABAD, Sept 16: Air Commodore Tariq Matin has been promoted to the rank of Air Vice-Marshal, said an official announcement here on Saturday.

Mr Matin was commissioned in the Pakistan Air Force on Jan 19, 1975, in the engineering branch. He holds Bachelor’s of Engineering degree in Avionics and Masters of Electrical Engineering degree from College of E&ME (NUST). He also holds Masters degree in Business Administration (MIS).

He had commanded an engineering squadron and worked as associate professor at the College of Aeronautical Engineering, Risalpur. He had also served as director of the Engineering Development, Air Headquarters. Presently, he was serving as deputy chief project director (Avionics) JF-17 at Air Headquarters. He had been a member of the group responsible for the joint development of JF-17 Thunder aircraft. He is recipient of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military).—APP
