Two brothers injured in acid attack

BAHAWALPUR, Sept 16: Two brothers sustained serious burns in an acid attack at Library Chowk here on Friday night. According to cantonment police, victims Naveed and Farhan had a dispute over a marriage issue with Hanif and others.

When they were returning from their shop on Friday night, Hanif, Shahbaz and Mushtaq allegedly throw acid on them and escaped.

Both the brothers received serious burns on their faces and eyes and were rushed to BVH.

Cantonment police registered a case against the accused who could not be arrested so far.

DEVOTEES: Two devotees of Hazrat Shahbaz Kalandar died while 22 fell ill due to alleged food poising here on Saturday.

They were returning from Sehwan Sharif on Friday night. On their way back they took meals. Barkat Husain of Kabirwala and Khurshid Shah fell unconscious near Bahawalpur and later died, while 22 others fell ill. They were treated at emergency ward of the BVH.

The affected people complained against the ill treatment of health officials to the EDO (health).p
