PML meeting sought on Balochistan

Published September 16, 2006

ISLAMABAD, Sept 15: Some senior members of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League, who met at the residence of Lt-Gen (retd) Majeed Malik on Wednesday, have called upon the party president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain to convene a meeting of the party’s executive committee immediately to discuss the Balochistan situation.

In a statement here on Friday, senior vice-presidents Hamid Nasir Chattha and Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo rebutted reports that differences had cropped up in the party ranks on the leadership issue.

They said the meeting had discussed party issues and Balochistan situation.

Sources, however, said that complaints did arise at the meeting against the PML president and secretary-general for their handling of the issue.
