Hiring in works dept stopped

TOBA TEK SINGH, Sept 15: The Faisalabad labour court No 4 ordered on Friday Toba Works and Services Department to stop recruitment of class-four employees on contract.

The court summoned EDO on Sept 25 along with record.

The employees had filed a petition in which it was alleged that the officials were violating merit and departmental rules.

It may be noted that hundreds of posts of work charge men were advertised in newspapers and after interview a list was finalised for appointment. However, ruling party parliamentarians and nazims had pressurised the district nazim and department officers to make appointments on their recommendations.

GAS SUPPLY: A survey has been completed to provide gas to eight villages and seven localities, said MNA Mian Farhan Latif on Friday. He stated that funds would be provided from his grant by federal government.

The villages where gas would be supplied include Chaks 319 JB, 320 JB, 321 JB (Seowal), 380 JB (Tahli), 322 JB (Shahzada), 393 JB (Khanpur) and 394 JB (Jaja), while localities of Toba are, Mahmoodabad, Bakhshi Park, Siddiq Park, Sitara Colony, Sarfraz Town, Faiz Colony and Madina Colony.

CASE REGISTERED: Gojra police registered a case on Friday on the charge of stealing a bus from general bus stand against Munawar Husain, Sajjad Ahmad and two unidentified people.

Sarfraz Ahmad told police that he had parked his bus (LHE-8671) in bus stand which was taken away by the accused.

Meanwhile, Gojra Saddar police registered a case against robbers who snatched away Rs64,000 in cash from a trader near Pacca Anna railway station.
