Boy kidnapped for ransom recovered

By Our Correspondent

KASUR, Sept 15: The local police recovered on Friday a four-year-old boy kidnapped for ransom of Rs1.5 million by his cousin a few days back.

DPO Syed Ahmed Mobeen told reporters here on Friday that Saifullah had been kidnapped on Sept 12. He said Chanan, the boy’s father, after a thorough search had reported the police about the missing of his son on Sept 13.

The complainant told police he had received a letter demanding Rs1.5 million ransom for the release of his son. On Sept 14, an unknown person informed the DPO by phone that the child was kidnapped by complainant’s nephew.

The DPO constituted a raiding team headed by SP (investigation) Syed Ali Mohsin, DSP Attique Sindhu and B-Division SHO Israr Shah. The police contacted the complainant who confessed that his nephew Sajid had demanded the ransom amount for the release of his son.

At this, the police in a raid arrested the accused on Thursday night and recovered the boy. The accused had handed over the boy to Rasheed alias Sheeda, the resident of a locality near the General Hospital, Lahore. Rasheed again gave the boy in the custody of his friend Irfan. Police also arrested the accused, Rasheed and Irfan.
