Seven killed in accident


MULTAN, Sept 15: Seven people were killed outside a roadside kiosk after a bus veered out of control and hit them at high speed in Shujabad area, 35 kilometres away from here on Friday.

Police officials said that angry protesters set four buses on fire.

The accident occurred near the Pul Cable More when the driver lost control over the vehicle, killing five people who were outside the kiosk.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Ramzan, Naeem Ahmad, Allah Bakhsh, Nazar Mohammad, and Mohammad Asif, Khalid and Abid Hussain.

Police said that four buses of the same transport company whose bus had crushed people were set on fire.

“The situation is now under control,” he added.

Meanwhile, doctors said that Rafia Bibi, 11, Nauman, 13 and Saeed Ahmad, 16, were still in the Nishter Hospital while other injured Ghulam Sarwar, Mehmood Shah and Abdul Aziz were admitted to the tehsil headquarters hospital in Shujabad.—APP
