Clinton invites musician to address panel

NEW YORK, Sept 14: Former US president Bill Clinton has invited founder of the Junoon music band Salman Ahmad to speak at the Clinton Global Initiative panel here, which will also be addressed by President Pervez Musharraf.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates, US first lady Laura Bush, Queen Rania of Jordan, United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan, Virgin Airlines chief Sir Richard Branson, British Prime Minister Tony Blair and other prominent personalities will also attend the event, a press release issued here said.

According to reports Mr Ahmad will make a presentation on the role of culture in building bridges between Islam and the West.

His music and award-winning documentaries ‘The rockstar and the mullahs’ and ‘It’s my country too’ will also be on display for the three-day event.
