SWABI, Sept 14: The district promotion committee has upgraded 100 teachers from BPS 9 to BPS 14 and 15, Dawn learnt on Thursday.

Sources said the committee had taken the decision in accordance with rules and on the basis of notification number FD (SR-102-123) issued by the provincial education directorate. The committee comprised the district officer, education, and the district officer, finance. Those promoted have been working as teachers of physical education, Arabic, theology and drawing in different schools of the district.

The sources said the teachers would get arrears from May 2006. They said more cases of promotion were expected to be decided by the promotion committee soon.
