Compensation for rain victims

PESHAWAR, Sept 12: The father of a boy who was killed and a girl who was injured when the roof of a house in the Asharkorh village collapsed in recent rains were paid Rs100,000 and Rs50,000, respectively.

They were given the compensation cheques at the office of the Samarbagh Union Council of the Dir Lower district by NWFP Senior Minister Sirajul Haq. Area nazim Hidayatur Rehman was also present.

DASTARBANDI: Senior Minister Sirajul Haq has claimed that people had confidence in the MMA leadership and they would vote for the alliance in the next general election.

He was speaking at a Dastarbandi function at the Jamia Farooqia Mayyar in the Dir Lower district’s Jandool tehsil.

He complained that the centre did not cooperate with the provincial government to improve the lot of the poor and had stopped the province from its constitutional right to make legislation for enforcing Shariah in the province.

He said the province was being deprived of its rights and propaganda had been launched on the official electronic media against the MMA.

He said the provincial MMA government had taken steps to improve education, health and other sectors. He announced Rs50,000 for the seminary and gave an assurance that its problems would be resolved.—PPI
