Tribesmen reject US charge

KHAR (Bajaur Agency), Sept 12: Tribal chiefs and political representatives of Federally Administrative Tribal Area (Fata) have rejected a report of US secret agencies about presence of Osama bin Laden in tribal areas saying that the report is sheer propaganda of US agencies and is contrary to facts.

Member of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal in National Assembly Sahibzada Haroon Rashid, President of Pakistan People’s Party in Bajaur and provincial chief of PPP Shahabuddin said in a statement that the news regarding the presence of Osama in tribal areas was an attempt to degrade the chieftains.

They appealed to the government to lodge a protest with US, and said that Osama never had come to tribal areas and ruled out his presence.

Lauding the peace-loving people of the area, they vowed to support the government in this regard, adding that the anti-state elements would not be tolerated.

They said it was an attempt to create a systematic uncertainty and anarchy in the area by broadcasting such unfounded statements. They asked International Court of Justice to take action against US for launching attack without any proof by violating human rights in the tribal areas.—Online
