KARACHI: Property dealer shot dead

KARACHI, Sept 11: A 50-year-old man was killed by unknown persons in Liaquatabad on Monday.

Armed men barged into the house of Saghir, a property dealer, in Ghariabad area.

The bandits started collecting cash and valuables from the house after taking the occupants of the house hostage.

Saghair attempted to put up resistance, prompting the bandits to open fire. The suspects managed to flee following the incident.

The wounded property dealer was rushed to the hospital, but died in the way, police said.

DIES: A young man died after falling from the roof of a multistory apartment building early Monday morning in North Nazimabad.

A duty officer of the Hydri police kiosk said that Mohammad Husain, 35, was a watchman at Adeel Plaza in Block H, North Nazimabad.

At around 5:30 am, he fell from the fourth floor of Adeel Plaza and died.

The family took away the body without postmortem examination or other legal formalities, police said.

Police quoting the deceased’s brother said that they didn’t want any legal course of action in connection with the death. The body was taken to Larkana for burial.

ACCIDENT: A man died and his son received injuries in a road accident near Baloch Colony on Monday night.

Police said a trawler hit Asghar, 55, and his son Qasim, 25, who were on motorcycle. The accident occurred near Baloch Colony Bridge.

Father died on the spot while his son was injured in the accident. He was taken to Jinnah Hospital for treatment.

Police said the boy was soon to be married; they were going for shopping for marriage.
