KARACHI, Sept 10: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Durrani visited the Aga Khan Hospital on Sunday to inquire after the health of nuclear scientist Dr A. Q. Khan who had undergone prostatectomy surgery on Saturday.
The minister wished Dr Khan speedy recovery and presented a bouquet.
Later, Mr Durrani told media representatives that he had come here on behalf of the government.
“I was pleased to meet him. He was in good spirits,” the minister remarked.
He said Dr Khan was in the recovery room and he would be shifted to his room on Monday, where he was expected to remain for two to three days.
“We expect that after the successful operation the health of Dr Khan will improve,” Mr Durrani said.
He said Dr Khan had expressed gratitude to all those who prayed for his health and well being and sent bouquets. The minister said the need of the hour was that all should pray for the speedy recovery of Dr Khan.
Replying to a question, he said the duration of the scientist’s stay in Karachi would be planned in accordance with the requirements and in consultation with Dr Kahn and his family members.
He said the panel of doctors who had carried out the operation and those of Rawalpindi and the KRL were satisfied with the successful operation.—APP
