KARACHI, Sept 10: Offices of all the departments of the city government and their subsidiaries besides Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) and the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) have been opened here at the Civic Centre, under one-window operation, to facilitate the citizens.
The step has been taken on the directive s of City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal, who performed the inauguration of the facility, said a statement here on Sunday.
One officer of each department along with its staff will remain present in these offices during office hours. Speaking on the occasion, Mustafa Kamal said that from now on people would not have to visit the offices of different departments, as all of their cases would be dealt with at one place.
Earlier people had to travel from one place to another and had to face difficulties due to complications in the system. Keeping these problems in view, the city government has started a one-window operation, said the city nazim.
He said now such a system had been introduced under which citizens' cases would be processed within the shortest possible time.
“People will now get the reply to their applications the very next day of submission of the same,” he added.
The city nazim informed that a water cooler and seats had been provided in the premises to facilitate the people visiting the offices.
He directed the staff employed at the counters to be polite while dealing with the people and try their level best to dispose of the cases at the earliest.
Korangi ROAD: A track of Korangi-8000 road will shortly be opened for the traffic while work on replacing sewerage line at the other track commenced Saturday night.
In all 109 pipes of 48-inch-dia would be laid from Chamra Chowrangi to Brooks Chowrangi and the work would continue round-the-clock.
This information was given to City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal during his visit to the work site on Saturday night. The officials of Frontier Works Organisation, city government and the KWSB were also present.
Mr Kamal directed to carry out work in three shifts each of 8 hours and an official each from FWO, city government, Nespak and the KWSB would remain present during each shift to monitor the work.
The city nazim was further told that the construction work of Jam Sadiq Bridge, Qayumabad-Dawood Chowrangi, Landhi road was also being initiated with modern sewerage system.—APP/PPI
