Shahid, Aamir advance

KARACHI, Sept 9: Pakistan’s Shahid Zaman and Aamir Atlas Khan won their opening matches in the qualifying rounds of Saudi International Squash, being played in Weybridge Surrey, England on Saturday.

Aamir from Peshawar, ranked 90 in Professional Squash Association rankings, pulled off a shock win when he beat 33rd-ranked player Renan Lavigne of France 11-3, 11-7, 11-9.

World number 27, Shahid Zaman beat Chris Simpson of England 11-8, 11-9, 11-8.—APP
