Rains: PM assures Sindh of help


ISLAMABAD, Sept 9: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday assured Sindh Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim of federal government in the aftermath of the damages caused by the torrential rains.

Mr Aziz phoned Mr Rahim and inquired about the impact of unprecedented rains in Thatta, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar and other parts of the province.

The prime minister asked the chief minister to personally undertake tour of the affected areas to assess the damage.

He assured that the federal government would extend all possible help to the Sindh government to over come the problems caused by the torrential rains.

The chief minister updated the prime minister about the damage caused to the life and property in Sindh and measures taken by the provincial government to cope with the situation.

He said that help from the army was also being taken wherever it is needed.—Online
