KARACHI, Sept 8: The Sindh Professors and Lecturers’ Association has urged the chief justice of the Sindh High Courts to take notice of the reported corruption in the Sindh education department and order a judicial enquiry.

A meeting of the college teachers’ body was held on Friday, wherein recent action by Sindh chief minister pertaining to removal of the education secretary on some recommendations by a committee was considered.

It was noted that the CM’s latest administrative action confirmed the claims of SPLA that all was not well in the education department and “corruption and irregularities” had got their roots there for which the education minister could be questioned as well.

The SPLA demanded of the chief minister to remove the education minister to ensure any real and meaningful betterment in the educational affairs of the province.

The participants were of the view that the affairs, particularly of the Sindh Textbook Board, needed to be checked immediately.
