AJK PM’s visit to US, Europe from Sunday

MUZAFFARABAD, Sept 7: AJK Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan will leave on Sunday on a two-week visit to Belgium, the UK and the US. According to a notification issued here on Thursday, the prime minister will fly to Brussels on Sunday where he will attend a discussion on ‘Global Discourse on Kashmir’ to be held on September 12 and 13.

Sardar Attique will arrive in the UK on September 15. During his three-day stay there, he will meet the members of British Parliament, besides holding meeting with UK-based Kashmiri expatriates, including those whose families have been affected by the Mangla Dam upraising project back home. He would also highlight the ongoing reconstruction activities in AJK’s quake-hit zone.

From the UK, the prime minister would fly to New York where he would attend the ministerial meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Conference Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir from September 21 to 24. He is also scheduled to meet Pakistani-Kashmiri community members and opinion makers, before flying back home on September 27.

The prime minister’s entourage comprises his secretary Mohammad Akram Sohail, media adviser Abdul Hameed Shaheen, private secretary Azmat Baig and valet Muhammad Fiaz. Secretary of AJK Islamic Ideology Council Syed Nazir-ul-Hasan Gilani will join the entourage in the UK for journey to the US.
