KARACHI: Towns initiate carpeting of roads

KARACHI, Sept 7: The city government’s works and services department, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board and the town municipal administrations have made special arrangements for maintenance of roads leading to graveyards, their internal and external sanitation and parking facilities.

Roads and streets have been carpeted wherever required and arrangements made for lighting.

A portion of sewerage line passing near Mewa Shah graveyard and which was leaking has been replaced.

The sewage has been cleared and 25 search lights have been installed on 25 poles.

At Sakhi Hasan graveyard, the wild growth has been cut down and a spacious parking lot prepared outside where dozens of cars could be parked at a time.

The road to as well as internal pathways of graveyard have also been carpeted.—APP
