MIRPUR, Sept 6: A comprehensive plan to expand the digital telecom network in the Azad Jammu Kashmir has been chalked out and several new exchanges are being installed in various parts of the AJK.

Official sources said here on Wednesday the plan would be completed in four to five years.

After completion of the project, the people of the area would enjoy advance telecom facilities as 31 digital telephone exchanges have been installed in various parts of the AJK.

The sources said a large number of subscribers were availing the facility, adding that work on 12 other digital exchanges was in progress.

To improve the telecom service in the AJK, a network of fibre optic cable was being linked with the digital telephone exchanges.—APP
