QUETTA, Sept 5: The resignations of BNP-Mengal members Mohammad Akbar Mengal and Akhtar Hussain Lango from their Balochistan Assembly have been accepted.

A notification in this regard was issued here on Tuesday by Joint Secretary Legislation Mohammad Azam Dawi on behalf the acting speaker.

Notifying acceptance of the resignations, Mr Dawi declared vacant the electoral constituencies of PB-35 Khuzdar-3 and PB-4 Quetta-4 with effect from September 4, 2006.

The two BNP-M members had submitted their resignations on Monday to the secretary of the Balochistan Assembly speaker in compliance with their party decision, taken in protest against the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti.

Dera Bugti mine blast: Two people were killed in a landmine explosion in Sangsilla area of Dera Bugti district on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, gas supply could not be restored to Kalat and Mastung on Tuesday.
