Wasim thinks Ganguly should quit
KARACHI, Sept 5: Former Pakistan Test captain Wasim Akram on Tuesday advised his Indian rival Saurav Ganguly to retire from international cricket.
“Saurav was an outstanding leader of India and I think it is right time for him to make a dignified exit from international cricket,” Wasim remarked.
Wasim expressed disappointment that the left-handed batsman has yet not taken the tough but right decision of his career.
“This is a problem in our part of the world, sportsmen don't realise when is the right time to say goodbye to the game,” Wasim, who finished his career with 414 Test and 502 ODI wickets, said.
He threw down any chances for Ganguly to be selected again.
“I don't think he now stands a chance of getting selected in the national team as there are young good players coming up.”—PPI
