KARACHI, Sept 5: The administrative judge of anti-terrorism courts in Karachi on Tuesday accepting charge sheet against two Al Qaeda suspects, facing charges for killing US diplomat and others in Karachi, sent their case to ATC-V for trial.

Osman Ghani and Anwarul Haq are charged with preparing plot for car bombing near US consulate in Karachi on March 2, 2006 in which four persons including United States diplomat David Foy and three Pakistanis were killed and 48 others injured.

Investigation officer Ateequr Rehman submitted charge sheets before Administrative Judge Justice Amir Hani Muslim for approval.According to police, alleged suicide attacker, who was later identified as Mohammad Tahir, had rammed a car packed with explosives into a vehicle carrying a US diplomat soon as it left the consulate gate.

The blast came just two days before the US President George Bush's scheduled visit to Pakistan.

One absconding co-accused Mohammad Zafar alias Qari Zafar, the mastermind of the case are still at large.—PPI
