KARACHI, Sept 5: As elsewhere, the Defence Day of Pakistan will be marked in Karachi on Wednesday with traditional spirit and in a befitting manner.
The day will dawn with special prayers in mosques for the solidarity and integrity of the country and the martyrs of the 1965 war.
Television channels will air special programmes and newspapers would come up with supplements to highlight the significance of the day.
A grand display of arms and equipment under the use of the Pakistan Army will be held at the Malir Cantonment here. Corps Commander Lt- Gen Ahsan Azhar Hayat will be the chief guest on the occasion. The exhibition will be open to the general public after 12 noon.
The people have been advised not to bring cameras and tiffin carriers and should have their national identity cards with them. To mark the Defence Day, Pakistan Air Force will hold a ceremony at the PAF Base Masroor.—APP
