ISLAMABAD, Sept 4: The chief election commissioner (CEC) has extended the date of Form-II for registration of votes in the new electoral list from Sept 11 to Sept 30, 2006.

Federal Election Commission Secretary Kanwar Mohammad Dilshad on Monday, said that the decision had been taken to facilitate the people affected by quake and floods. He urged people of 18 years or above, having their national identity card old or new, to register their names in the new electoral lists.

He said that those who have failed to receive forms could contact the assistant registration officer or assistant election commissioner/registration officer, adding that if someone’s name is registered in the old list then it would be necessary to enlist his name in the new electoral list.—PPI
