PM visits Lord’s, meets team

LONDON, Sept 2: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday visited Lord's Cricket Ground to meet the members of the Pakistan cricket team in the team’s dressing room prior to the start of the second One-day International against England.

The Prime Minister congratulated Pakistani cricketers on their success in the Twenty20 game against England last Monday at Bristol and expressed hope for their victory in the on-going one day series.

Aziz remained at Lord's for over an hour as he watched Inzamam and his team during a pre-match practice session while start of the second ODI got delayed due to rain.

Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Ms Hina Rabbani Khar, Minister for Environment Malik Amin Aslam and Pakistan High Commissioner to UK, Dr Maleeha Lodhi also accompanied the prime minister on the occasion.—Agencies
