GUJRANWALA, Sept 1: Two boys were killed and seven others suffered injuries when the roof of a video-game centre caved in on the Ferozewala Road owing to day-long rain on Friday.

Reports said several children and youngsters were inside a video-game centre when its roof caved in as a result of which Osama, 13, and Majid, 22, both residents of the same locality, died on the spot. Seven other boys suffered injuries and were taken to the DHQ hospital.

The rain which started around 10 in the morning inundated low-lying areas and streets. According to reports, the rainwater seeped into many houses and shops in the city and the Water and Sanitation Agency staff failed to drain out the water till last reports came in.

People faced a great deal of inconvenience on roads as commuters complained that motorcycle-rickshaw drivers charged excess fare.
