Published September 2, 2006

NOWSHERA, Sept 1: A nurse, employed with the Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar, committed suicide here on Friday.

She took poisonous injections at her residence near the military school, police said.

The young nurse took

the extreme step reportedly as a result of a failed love affair, said the police, while citing a few words she had scribbled on one of her hands before injecting herself with poison.

The police removed the

body to the hospital in the

presence of a large number of people who had gathered at the place.

Later, the body was handed over to relatives.

The police also found two syringes and a purse from the site, which contained her identity card and other things.
